Xiotech Serves Up ISE-Powered Alliance Program

Program Helps Channel and Technology Partners Integrate Xiotech's ISE Technology to Strengthen the New Foundation of Purpose-Built Storage Solutions

DALLAS, Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Xiotech Corporation today, at Storage Networking World (SNW) Fall 2008, announced the creation of its new ISE-Powered Alliance Program, which is designed to build an ecosystem of storage products that interoperate, integrate with and are optimized for Xiotech's game-changing Intelligent Storage Element (ISE(TM)) technology. The tiered program encompasses development and certification of complete, best-in-class, purpose-built storage solutions, as well as sales and marketing cooperation. Through the end of SNW Fall, Xiotech(R) representatives are available to discuss the program at booth #306.

Xiotech unveiled its patented ISE technology at the Spring 2008 SNW conference. Using ISE as the fundamental element of storage instead of disk drives enables Xiotech's Emprise(TM) storage systems to scale linearly, boost performance and essentially eliminate service events. The products' capabilities and five-year warranty are helping to drive significant sales growth for the company.

"The unmatched reliability, performance and scalability of Xiotech's ISE technology provides a solid foundation for purpose-built storage solutions," said Xiotech Vice President of Marketing Mike Hoch. "This new alliance program will allow us to work with many great organizations to create a strong industry ecosystem of combined solutions that address specific storage and information management requirements for our customers."

Under the program, Xiotech ISE-Powered Alliance Partners will be categorized into three levels -- Premier, Advanced and Member. A Premier-level partner relationship -- the closest with Xiotech of the three levels -- constitutes a shared focus on sales, marketing, development and certification and is populated by undisputed industry leaders. An Advanced-level partner is an organization who works with Xiotech to offer a jointly tested and validated product or solution and who has made a significant investment in showcasing compatibility with Xiotech storage solutions. The Member level, comprised of complementary solution and technology providers, refers to organizations who will test and integrate Xiotech products into their business strategies on their own.

"Xiotech's ISE-Powered Alliance Program holds the potential to reinvent storage, enabling IT architects to buy just the capacity and functionality that they need instead of obscenely overpriced one-size-fits-most storage stovepipes," says CEO of Toigo Partners International and founder of the Data Management Institute Jon Toigo. "The high resiliency of the ISE platform, combined with management and integration via W3C Standard Web Services, represents the first real deconstruction of storage array technology and the first meaningful step toward the original concept of a storage area network. ISE is key to containing costs in data center storage today."

Recently, Xiotech allied with Data Domain to combine Xiotech's ISE technology with Data Domain's Gateway Series. This unified deduplication storage solution offers enterprise-proven performance, reliability and scalability to address the data protection and nearline storage needs of companies of all sizes. "We are pleased to have Xiotech reselling our Gateway Series solutions with its ISE-based Emprise 5000 storage systems," said Director of Product Marketing and Channel Marketing for Data Domain Shane Jackson. "Our inline data deduplication offers users more cost-effective, efficient and reliable data protection, and extends the benefits of the Xiotech ISE technology -- the result is a powerful, best-in-class solution."

Last month, at VMworld 2008, DataCore chose to display and demonstrate its hardware-independent, software-based virtualization and storage area network management applications using Xiotech's Emprise 5000 system. "Xiotech's ISE technology is a great storage building block," said DataCore Vice President of Channel Sales James Price III. "A number of our resellers and customers have deployed Xiotech and DataCore and when we saw what ISE could do, partnering with Xiotech just made sense. When combined, the DataCore-Xiotech ISE solution ranks among the highest-performing and most cost-effective implementations in the industry."
